Out of Context

Have you ever overheard just one line of a conversation that made you curious what you had missed in the rest of it? Today when I was in the office cafeteria arming myself with plastic silverware and napkins, two well dressed men carrying empty trays passed by me and returned said trays to the conveyor belt near where I stood. I heard the one with the slight limp say to the other, in a thick New York-Italian accent, "I betcha Tony" - (accent on the ony) - "can be convinced."

I left the cafeteria entertaining myself with thoughts of white collar mobsters wielding Penne Bolognese and a breadstick.
