Worst nightmare
This is a picture of the damage to the house behind me that was hit by lightning on Tuesday. Sadly, there's nothing they could have done to prevent this. It was also very, very close to my house and I do recognize that it could have been me.

No, thankfully no one was home at the time. The husband came home about fifteen minutes later, but the neighbors had already called the fire department.
